King Henry VIII

Children in Year 2 were fortunate enough to enjoy an educational visit to the Tower of London, linked to their History unit about King Henry VIII. All the children had a fantastic time exploring and learning how to become a knight and more importantly important information about King Henry VIII. They also enjoyed seeing the Crown Jewels!

We Love to Read

We recently held a 'Bedtime Stories' session where children had the opportunity to come back to school to read books and stories with their friends and teachers, in their Pyjamas. Children love these sessions and enjoy coming back to school to read for enjoyment whilst cozy and comfy in their sleep wear. This term we had 346 children come back to school to read at Bedtime Stories.

Greenwich Park Visit

In Year 2 Children went on an educational visit to Greenwich Park linked to our Geography Unit. Children worked in groups and searched for a range of physical and human features and marked the features they found off on their 'Features' treasure map.  All the children had a great time and were very impressed with the beautiful views of London they got to see on a cold and clear winter day!

Reading Cafe Celebration

On Friday 15th of July 2016 we celebrated our last Reading Cafe for the academic year by raising money for Book Boxes for Africa. This is a charity that raises money to help buy books for schools in Africa, either in Amharic for libraries in Ethiopia,  or in Kiswahili for children in primary schools in Zanzibar. Thank you to everybody who kindly donated. We raised an amazing £200.00. Click here for more information

Carnival 2016

For our Carnival this year our talented dance teacher Ennor, taught us a great routine to parade around the school. We all wore bright costumes in the theme of 'Royalty'. It was a very exciting day, bursting with energy with an amazing atmosphere. There were some superb performances including samba and singing. We also had a special guest appearance from Lathom school; Year 3 dance club performed their dance routine that they have been practising for weeks. Thank you parents for coming to watch and support the children on this lovely sunny day.

Altmore Celebrates

Our final Parents Evening ended off with a wonderful celebration and Community Event.
We officially opened our new kitchen, our parents and families had an opportunity to taste some lovely food and engage with lots of different community support agencies.

The London Fire Brigade joined us along with other services from the NHS, Smart Training, FGM Awareness and our partnership with ROMA. Thank you to all our partners and to our parents who have supported us during the expansion and building project.

Athlete day – Elizabeth Cann 4.7.16

We are delighted to announce that GB athlete Elizabeth Cann visited our school last week. The children had a fun filled day which consisted of completing circuit training sessions. It was really fantastic to see the children enjoy taking part in exercises to keep us healthy. She also led an assembly and explained her achievements and ambitions that helped her aspire to where she is now. The children asked some great questions to Elizabeth to find out more about her sport which is Badminton. Thank you for your support in sponsoring your children for this great event.
