The staff, Governing Body and pupils of Altmore Infant School would welcome you applying for a place at our school. To do this you must follow the correct process for your child’s age as detailed below.

We are a school maintained by London Borough of Newham which means they are the admission authority for this school. All applications for this school must be made through London Borough of Newham’s Pupil Services, not this school.

Reception Admission for September 2022 entry

For all children born from 1st September 2017 and 31st August 2018 inclusive, their parents/carers will need to apply for a reception class place in an infant or primary school for September 2022 entry.

All reception 2022 applications must be made through the family’s home local authority.​

For children living in Newham families must apply via London Borough of Newham.
For children living outside Newham, whose family wants them to attend this school their application must be made through their home borough naming this school as a preference on their application.

Remember, parents/carers must apply for a reception place in this school, even if the child:

  • Attends our nursery OR
  • Has a brother or sister attending this school.

Infant to Junior School transition for September 2022 entry

Children born from 1st September 2014 and 31st August 2015 who attend an Infant school, will need to apply a Year 3 Junior place in an Infant or Primary School for September 2022. This does not apply to children who attend a Primary School unless their parent/carer wants to change their child’s school for September 2021.

In Year admissions into primary school (aka mid-term and mid phase)

If a family arrives in Newham during the school year 2021/2022 and their child needs a school place they must complete an In Year form naming their preferred schools

School places are usually offered within 10 days. The place offered may not be at the school the family prefers as that school may not have a suitable place available.

In Year Admissions for 1st September 2020 to 16th July 2022 (Year Groups: Reception to Year 6)

Moving from primary to secondary school in September 2022

Year 7 Admission for September 2022

For all children born from 1st September 2010 and 31st August 2011 inclusive, their parents/carers will need to apply for Year 7 secondary school place for September 2022, unless the child is on roll at an All Through school (Chobham Academy, Langdon Academy or School 21) as they will automatically move into Year 7 unless they would prefer

All year 7 applications for September 2022 must be made through the family’s home local authority.​

For children who live outside Newham, whose family wants them to attend this school their application must be made through their home borough naming this school as a preference on their application.

Waiting lists

Nursery Admissions

  • We are pleased to accept children’s names for our nursery waiting list when they are two and half years old.
  • We offer a morning or afternoon session and try our best to accommodate parents’ requests.
  • You are welcome to register your child in the Children’s Centre.

Please bring your:

  • Your most recent Council Tax Bill or if not available, your Tenancy Agreement or Rent Book
  • Utility Bill, (Gas, Electric, Water, Landline phone)
  • Your child(rens) Birth Certificate or Passport showing their Date of Birth and Full Name.
