Music

At Altmore, children have the opportunity to perform music freely and creatively. By doing so, children use these musical experiences to promote a love for music and the arts. We teach music in accordance with the National Curriculum and use a range of instruments in our lessons to enhance our children’s music learning.

In EYFS

Music is incorporated into our EYFS curriculum through ‘songs’ that enable children to make musical links to their learning. Teachers will also use singing to help children with transitions throughout the school day. Children also have the opportunity to have a dedicated interactive Music lesson every Friday, which enhances their Music skills and builds their key vocabulary

In KS1

Music is incorporated into our curriculum by the Topics we teach which provide children with the opportunity to develop and nurture their musical skills. We believe that music has a big impact on our body and minds, which promotes confidence, self-esteem and collaboration. Children also have the opportunity to have a dedicated interactive Music lesson every Friday, which enhances their Music skills and builds their key vocabulary.
