RSHE

At Altmore, RSHE is taught as part of the SCARF scheme and is embed into the curriculum looking at the DFES guidelines to support the learning.

Relationships, Sex and Health Education (RSHE); Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE).

In school, we have always taught PSHE (Personal, Social and Health Education) and we deliver our teaching and learning through a programme called SCARF. Many schools use this programme too. At Altmore & Lathom this links perfectly with our values and, as you know, these are embedded throughout our schools.

To support our delivery of a PSHE curriculum which encompasses the new requirements regarding Relationships, Sex & Health Education we will continue using SCARF. SCARF is widely used in schools across the UK, it is comprehensive and includes a wealth of quality resources. Lessons will take place once per week and will last up to an hour (depending on the age of the children).

Enrichment

We consider enrichment activities to be an important part of our children’s learning, providing children with stimulating and engaging practical experiences that support the curriculum and create a love for learning. Throughout the school year, children take part in a variety of enrichment activities. These include: visitors in school, visits from authors, educational visits, competitions, performances and celebrating our ‘Altmore Achievers’ in a weekly assembly.

Inspiring a love of learning in the resilient and confident leaders of tomorrow.
