On Thursday 18.05.23 Year 1 went on an educational visit to the London Eye as part of our topic – My City, My Place which also links to our core text ‘Katie in London.’
In Term 6, children will be learning about famous London landmarks and this visit was a ‘hook’ lesson to give children an opportunity to instil excitement into a new learning journey as well as create eagerness to find out more.
Children also gained a first hand experience by visiting an iconic London Landmark; The London Eye. From the capsules/pods children were able to see many London landmarks such as:
- The Houses of Parliament
- Big Ben
- Westminster Abbey
- The Shard
- The River Thames
- Buckingham Palace
- Tower Bridge
- St.Paul’s Cathedral
