This week, in Reception, children have been reading the story ‘The Three Little Pigs’ as part of our Traditional Tales topic. Children have been practising retelling the story through role play and by creating soundscapes using musical instruments. Children explored rhythm and beat using a variety of instruments to express different characters in the story. Once familiar with the text, children built houses for the pigs which were strong and safe. Children explored different materials when building their houses and discussed their ideas confidently within their class. Next week we will try to blow down the houses, testing if they are strong enough.
